You Have to Go is a song heard in the Alley Theatre Premiere and nowhere else. It's sung between Jekyll and Lisa as he orders her out, focused solely on his work.

Lyrics[edit | edit source]

JEKYLL
Can you not see
I need this time to be alone now
Listen to me
I must complete this on my own now

LISA
Henry!
I only want to help you
Tell me, what am I to do
I'll calm you if
You'll only let me,
Let me stay with you

JEKYLL
I've made it clear
I cannot bear these confrontations
You can't stay here
And I can't give you explanation!

LISA
Henry!
What is it you won't tell me?
Trust me, I know you far too well.

JEKYLL
Lisa!
You've got to understand me
There's danger here tonight

LISA
If there is danger
Let's face it together!

JEKYLL
No, you must go!
I must face it alone
There are things here
That I don't want you knowing
Now Lisa,
Please leave me alone
I'll be with you soon, dear

LISA
But I want to stay here

JEKYLL
You cannot stay
You have to go
